What Customers Say About Motorola PEBL U6 Unlocked Phone with Camera, and Bluetooth--International Version with No Warranty (Orange):

Product as described, fast delivery, and great phone for the price, thanks a million, i will be a loyal shopper.

I paid $92.99 for it in September 2008. However, after a couple of months, the phone started having problems. The phone is still working fine, but I don't know for how long. For a Motorola brand name, this phone has given me plenty of aggravation. That seemed to do the trick. One day, the keypad started acting up. After looking up some information, I came across the name of the screws - Torx screws.

They were able to make phone calls to us from Hong Kong and India during their trip. I was able to open up the phone and take the keypad apart from the base. The 0, *, and the # keys went dead. I also bought the Mobal SIM card for the phone. But I couldn't open the phone up because they had used some unusual screws to "tamper-proof" the phone.

My parents were traveling to India, with a stop-over in Hong Kong. I bought this phone because #1 - I thought that buying a Motorola brand-name phone would minimize the chances of malfunctions in the phone, and #2 - It was one of the least expensive quad band phones available on Amazon. I took it apart again and cleaned a gold-plated contact point nearest to that corner. Prior to purchasing this phone, I did some research on quad band phones and found that "The Travel Insider" website had pretty good information on phones suitable for international travel. I didn't have the screwdriver for these screws, so I ordered a Torx screwdriver set from Amazon. After my parents came back, I had the phone as a spare to the one I had with AT&T since this phone in compatible with the GSM service that AT&T offers. After performing surgery on the phone multiple times, I finally noticed the manufacturing date on the inside of the battery cover - 18May06. The phone doesn't come with any warranty and I had pretty much given up on the phone.

I had bought this phone in September 2008 for my parents who were planning to travel to India in October. I had to take apart the phone and put it back together multiple times, cleaned the inside of the keypad and some of the contact points multiple times with alcohol, but without any positive results. Finally, by chance, I realized that the keypad seemed to work properly if I pressed and held down the top left corner of the keypad. That was a couple of weeks ago. I was thinking about sending out the phone for recycling through one of those postage pre-paid cell phone recycling programs. The phone I received had been floating around somewhere for 2 years and 5 months between its manufacturing date and when I bought it. And so, if it happened to get lost or damaged, it wouldn't be too much of a loss. This phone has tested my patience long enough.

I would press them and they would be completely unresponsive. But then I was tempted to open up the phone to see if it would come alive after I tampered with it. The fact that it doesn't come with any warranty means that if your phone starts acting up, you are on your own. If it breaks down again, my hammer will take care of it.

I purchased the Motorola PEBL U6 pumpkin orange phone for my Granddaughter for Christmas. It was the perfect gift. It works very well, good reception, no problems.

First is the fact that it cannot send or receive files via MMS, which may have something to do with the fact that it thinks it's roaming (doesn't affect your charges, the Pebl is just made to think it's from Italy), but it could just be a problem with my pumpkin. The charger was made to work in Europe, but it did come with an adapter and works as well as anything. It came in original packaging and pristine as you would expect for new. Personally, the U9 will probably be my next phone because the Pebls are just too great to not get another one. The couple megabites worth of memory is plenty for about twenty, 30-second videos or about 90 full-sized pictures. If a good camera and expandable memory are top on your priorities, but you want the cute Pebl look, I would suggest the Moto Pebl U9, about twice the cost of the U6 but with improved features.

The user guide is in many languages, including English, and easy to use.As far as how the phone works in general, it is very useful and reliable. Changing it to English was simple, but that's most likely because I've had many Motos and am used to what's where on the menu. It gets the best signal of any phone I've ever had, and I've never had trouble hearing anyone or getting calls. The battery life is great, it can easily go four days without a charge, and usually I don't charge it more than once a week. For the price, its features are just great. I bought the Motorola Pebl because it seemed to have loads of features, all while looking so cute.To try and avoid any problems since there isn't a warranty on international Moto phones used in the US, I chose to get a new Pebl. It has a voice recorder, good for quick notes. It comes with loads of good, preloaded ringtones that sound rich and get your attention.

You an download and upload pics, sounds, and videos onto the Pebl, all you need is MobilePhoneTools 4.0 or higher, which I bought on Amazon for less than $5 including shipping. Also, the spring-open feature is kind of a neat little "trick." When you slide the front of it down, and release your grip on the front, it pops open to reveal the smooth inside of the little clamshell.Despite being reliable and having many features, it does have a couple problems. It has bluetooth, although I've never used it and can't say if it's reliable in that way. The language was set to Italian, since that's one of the countries where they still sell them new. Another problem is not having expandable memory, which, combined with a megapixel camera, would make this phone perfect.Overall, my Moto Pebl has been an enjoyable and reliable phone.

The interface is clean, typical Moto. The camera is perfect for capturing quick moments - those times when you want a picture to remember something, but you don't have the or forgot it - both in still and in video. I absolutely love it, and have gotten many complements on its bright and fun color. :)

Motorola PEBL U6 Pumpkin Orange Phone (Unlocked Intl. Fully charged it could only make two calls before it warned of low battery and then stopped working. Version) no U.S. Warranty The phone is fatally flawed. This happened every day, no matter how long it had been charged for. While it is possible I got a phone with a defective battery, I would avoid this phone given other complaints of short battery life (see Amazon reviews of this phone in other colors).
